The Adventurer's Guild
Role: UI/UX Designer and UI Artist
Tools: Figma, Unity
Overview
The Adventurer's Guild is a game about managing adventurers as a guild master by assigning them to quests.Â
Goals
My task was to take previous designs and rearrange things to cater towards the play experience, as well as make respective alterations for changed features. Collaborating with the artists, we also made subtle changes to the general aesthetic to create a greater sense of visual cohesion.
Playtest Research
The biggest design change was the switch from a real-time clock to an action based one, in response to players feeling like they didn't have enough time to read
Certain text was also difficult or awkward to read due to visual elements, either by being on unsuitable backgrounds or not having enough space
Key Features
Quest Sheet (Process)
The Quest Description was increased in size to fit more text
The Reject button was removed; if there are no adventurers assigned, the Approve Stamp Template will say Reject on it automatically.
Types of ability scores decreased from four to three
Icons were created for adventurers for easier readability of which character was being used at a glance.
The stat numbers now have been arranged in a table view with a column for total to easily show the player if they reach a quest's minimum stat requirement with the party they have assigned.

Character Sheet (Process)
Bond Sliders were added to indicate the relationship between the character on the sheet and every other adventurer
Experience bars were added to the stats

Display Report (Process)
The wireframe provided by the main gameplay designer separated out information into categories
I took out the New Quests category, both because the new quests will draw attention automatically in the Active Quests panel upon the start of a new day, and to save space
Bond Updates and World Updates are the most text-heavy, so they have the biggest space and are placed right next to each other

Active Quests & Quest Log
The biggest change was having the Active Quests Banners indicate whether the quest is in progress or not, as well as which adventurers are assigned to it
